AUGUSTA, GA – Jaime Moser, a twentynine year old from Byram, MS, was admitted to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital December 24, 2008, as a result of a gas explosion. He sustained second and third degree burns to 47 percent of his body.
Jaime’s wife of three years, Natalie, is expecting their first child April 16 th . The Burn Center staff, along with the Labor & Delivery staff at Doctors Hospital, is throwing a surprise baby shower for Natalie Wed., March 4 at 9 p.m. on the burn unit. Balloons, cake and gifts will be part of the celebration.
“This is a sweet story about a couple, expecting their first child, who not only are a long way from home, but also have a long road ahead of them, said Herk Johnessee, RN, Director of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center. “Burn patients and their families become part of the Burn Center family while they’re here. Throwing a baby shower was a small way for us to show our love and support of the Mosers during this difficult time.”
In on the surprise are Jaime’s parents, Jim & Janice Moser, also of Byran, MS, who have been by his side since the accident, attending each of the four daily patient visitations. “We have never seen such compassion as this. Planning this shower is just another act of love that we have seen exhibited by the doctors and nurses, and we are so grateful,” said Jim Moser.
