Doctors Hospital Encourages Women to Get a Mammogram
September 17, 2010
Augusta, GA - The Women’s Diagnostic Center at Doctors Hospital encourages women over 40 every day to get their mammograms every year, but during national Breast Cancer Awareness Month they’re offering an extra incentive.
Mammograms are used to detect if a woman has breast cancer. Early detection increases a woman’s chance of surviving breast cancer. In 2010, an estimated 207,090 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and about 39,840 women were expected to die from the disease, according to the American Cancer Society.
Women who schedule to get their mammogram at Doctors Hospital in October will get a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A sandwich with the purchase of a drink. The coupon is good at participating Chick-fil-A restaurants in the CSRA. Women can get their mammogram at the main Doctors Hospital campus in Augusta or at the Doctors Hospital Diagnostic Center in North Augusta.
To schedule a mammogram, women should call 877-357-0159.
