Inpatient Rehab Facility Receives High Honors
May 02, 2012
Augusta, GA – Recognized for its outstanding care, Doctors Hospital Inpatient Rehab Facility has been awarded a three-year Certified Acute Rehab Facility (CARF) accreditation for its adult physical rehabilitation program, and a two-year accreditation for specialty stroke rehabilitation by The Joint Commission. This makes the Inpatient Rehab Facility the only CARF accredited facility in the area.
“We have been working extremely hard to accomplish these goals. These are two major achievements that demonstrate how highly we value excellent patient care and the satisfaction of our patients,” says Dean Beasley, Director of Inpatient Rehab at Doctors Hospital.
Attaining and maintaining CARF-accredited status requires a significant effort, strong teamwork, and commitment at all levels of Doctors Hospital to provide quality service and enhance the lives of patients requiring this intense level of care. The three-year process consists of ongoing consultations, patient and staff interviews, and in-depth on-site reviews.
Receiving accreditation from The Joint Commission demonstrates Doctors Hospital’s compliance with the national standards for health care quality and safety in hospitals. Further, it shows the hospital’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards not just for stroke, but all areas of patient care.
“I am extremely proud of what our Inpatient Rehab department has achieved, it truly is the best in the area” says Doug Welch, Chief Executive Officer of Doctors Hospital.
“As always, we will continue to provide the best care possible to our patients and I think these accreditations prove that,” says Beasley.
