Labor Support Options
At Doctors Hospital we realize that your childbirth experience will create lifelong memories and family bonds. With this comes the understanding that you, as an expectant mother, may have certain desires and expectations concerning your labor and birth, or you may simply want to have options available to you.
Because we feel that it’s important for you to communicate this information to your physician and our caring staff, we’ve created a “Birth Preferences” worksheet. Simply check the choices that are important to you and your family. We advise you to give a copy of your worksheet to your physician and to the hospital so you can give it to your nurse. We will do everything we can to meet your needs while providing safe care to you and your baby.
We encourage you and your partner to attend our “Nine Months and Counting” Childbirth Classes. This is the best way to equip you with the information that you need to make your labor and birth a wonderful experience. The options listed on the “Birth Preferences” worksheet are all covered in our classes, along with all of the information that you need concerning medication and epidurals.
