Doctors Hospital is pleased to announce David C. Krulak, MD, MPH, MBA, FAAFP, as its chief medical officer (CMO). He will assume the role previously held by John Farr, MD.

Dr. Krulak most recently served as CMO and Executive Medical Director/Surgeon General for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in Washington, D.C., where he provided executive medical leadership in support of over 16,000 personnel across more than 140 countries around the world. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan, the Navy’s largest overseas regional health system. Dr. Krulak has an extensive experience in chief medical officer roles in both the US Navy and US Marine Corps.

Dr. Krulak is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Rice University in Texas. He earned his Master of Public Health at John Hopkins University, MD, his Master of Business Administration at Oklahoma State University, OK, and his Doctor of Medicine degree at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in MD. He completed his residency in family medicine at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, NC and in aerospace medicine at the Naval Operational Medical Institute in FL. He also has his Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
