What’s Best For You And Your Baby
Every year the number of mothers who choose to breastfeed their babies increases. Research continues to prove the benefits of breastfeeding for the mother and baby, as well as the risks of formula feeding.
While breastfeeding may be frustrating at first for some mothers, it becomes a healthy bonding experience for all moms and their babies. At Doctors Hospital we are committed to helping each mother get the best start possible. All of our nursing staff is trained in breastfeeding support and we have two International Board Certified Lactation Consultants along with nine Certified Lactation Counselors.
Come to a Breastfeeding Class!
Breastfeeding is natural — but it doesn’t always come naturally! In this class, moms are prepared for what to expect the first few days with discussion of normal newborn behavior, how her body responds to breastfeeding, the do’s and don’ts for success and answers to common problems. Of course, the basics of positioning, latch and milk supply are covered, as well. Partners are encouraged to attend — you have no idea how helpful it can be to have this information!
